Yesterday was the last day on the building site and the team put in another great day's work! Alethea worked extremely hard as site leader and kept everyone motivated despite the rain and the team achieved everything they wanted to from their last day on the project.
In the afternoon, an emotional leaving ceremony was held for the team in the village. Hugh gave a speech on behalf of the team and Clemmie led the group's choir song which they had practiced for the event. Lots of fond farewells and shared dances later and the team's time in Pensulo village is over...
Here are some thoughts from some members of the team:
'Fantastic - I've learnt more than I thought I would. Tonight made me realise how valuable our contribution is'. Annie
'I was sceptical about 4 days of work, but we've done a lot and learnt a lot. It's been amazing' Dani
'I've had an amazing time, memorable for life' Clemmie.
They're on their way now to Mvuu Camp in Liwonde National Park as we speak, ready for their first day of safari! .
